New Small Group: “God’s Big Picture”

pictureJohn and Adri W. are hosting a new 10-week series based on the book God’s Big Picture, by Vaughan Roberts.  We will be meeting Tuesday nights from January 13 to March 17 at 7pm in South Irvine.

This book is an introduction to Biblical Theology, or the study of how the whole of the Bible fits together to tell a single story.  You are likely to enjoy this study if:

  1. You’ve never spent much time in the Old Testament, or
  2. You’re not sure what Jesus means when he talks about “The Kingdom of God,”  or
  3. You want a better understanding of how the whole Bible is put together and where all the books are

This study will have homework each week – one short book chapter, 1-2 chapters from the Bible, and questions to answer to help you remember what you read.  You will need to purchase the book ($10) and have a Bible that is READABLE and that you are willing to WRITE in.  Any cheaper Bible is fine.  Very readable translations include the NIV, TNIV, NLT, and Message versions.

Discovering the New Testament

New Bible Study on Wednesdays, 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the home of Lance & Carol Brown.

Have you ever wanted to read the Bible, but didn’t know where to start? Have you ever wondered how the New Testament fits together? Join us for a Bible Study that will introduce you to the wonderful truths contained in God’s Word, from the Gospels to Revelation. Each week we’ll take a look at some background information and apply a key passage to our daily lives.

H2H – P.O.P.

H2H – P.O.P. - Power of Prayer

Have you ever been curious to see what the Lord would do in your life if you were to cast your cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7)?   Let’s join together and pray for one another, and together we will wait and watch and see how He answers our requests (Matthew 18:19-20).

P.O.P meets every Friday at the “old” Vista Verde School located off of Michelson/Rosa Drew from 7:45-8:45am (we meet at the picnic tables where the lunch area was).  We will have a quick time of sharing/devotion and then spend the remainder time in prayer for our families, schools, careers, community, etc. (1 Timothy 2:1-6).

So grab a coffee, your bible and a journal and join us  and let’s watch what the Lord does!
