Biblical Virtues to Pray for Your Children

I am encouraged each time I come back to this list of Biblical virtues that we can pray for our children. It is such a gift that we have the ability to talk with our Creator God and pray on behalf of our children, their salvation and sanctification, their walk with God. May God grant you these virtues this week, not only in our children but in ourselves. We are one of the closest examples our children will see :)

Peace-loving. “Father, let my children make every effort to do what leads to peace” (Rom. 14:19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.)

Joy. “May my children be filled with the joy given by the Holy Spirit” (1 Thess. 1:6 So you received this message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way you imitated both us and the Lord.)

Perseverance. “Lord, teach my children perseverance in all they do, and help them especially to run with perseverance the race marked out for them” (Heb. 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faithh, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.)

Humility. “God, please cultivate in my children the ability to show true humility toward all” (Titus 3:2 …Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.)
