SAVED FROM…

Saved FROM

March 2, 2021

Saved, from eternal loneliness,

Saved, from gut-wrenching emptiness.

Saved, from vile teeth-gnashing regret,

Saved, from sin’s dark black silhouette.

Saved, from all my foolish choices,

Saved, from my head’s hellish voices.

Saved, from relational drama,

Saved, from the horror of trauma.

Saved, from slavery of addictions,

Saved, from depressing afflictions.

Saved, from others’ fiendish guilt trips,

Saved from my annoying head trips.

Saved, from my old hellish mindset,

Saved, from skeletons in my closet.

Saved, from all the times that hell lied,

Saved, from the dank dungeon of pride.

Saved, from the hollows of sadness,

Saved, from the gallows of madness.

Saved, from haunting ghosts of my past,

Saved, from carnage of sins amassed.

Saved, from murky, infernal gloom,

Saved, from gloomy, eternal doom.

Saved, from haunting worries and fears,

Saved, from miserable griefs and tears.

Saved, from craziness that I built,

Saved, from unending pangs of guilt.

Saved, from dreary discouragement,

Saved, from the specter of judgment.

Saved, from alleys going nowhere,

Saved, from valleys of dark despair.

Saved, from prison’s self-obsession,

Saved, from fog’s mists of depression.

Saved, from the phantom of failure,

Saved, from self’s ghastly behavior.

Saved, from the stronghold of anger,

Saved, from relational rancor.

Saved, from critic’s criticism,

Saved, from cynic’s cynicism.

Saved, from skeptic’s skepticism,

Saved, from ego’s egoism.

Saved, from worry’s insanity,

Saved, from fretting’s captivity,

Saved, from draining anxiety.

Saved, from craven fear’s irony.

Saved, from those with political rage,

Saved, from those with fiery outrage.

Saved, from those on their next rampage,

Saved, from some who are ev’r enraged.

Saved, from chains of depravity,

Saved, from damning hostility.

Saved, from grim howls of vanity

Saved, from doomed, endless misery.

Saved, from gloomy melancholy,

Saved, from empty despondency.

Saved, from heart-broken lovelessness,

Saved, from soul-crushing heartlessness.

Saved, from man’s animosity,

Saved, from man’s inhumanity.

Saved, from never-ending frenzy,

Saved, from infernos of fury.

Saved, from vehement agony,

Saved, from Satan’s ferocity.

Saved, from eternal tragedy,

Saved, from hopeless finality.

The end (though the list of all that we will be saved from, both in this life and the next could make for a never-ending poem!)
