VBS Photos 2009

Fifth and sixth graders!  Invite your friends to our monthly get-together where we learn more about Jesus and loving each other.  The theme this month is “St. Patrick’s Day.”  We’re meeting at the church, 7-8:30 pm, Wednesday, March 1st.  Contact Mindy using the Talk to Us form on the left if you have more questions.

Do you have a 5th or 6th grader? Bring them to First Wednesday on February 4th. We’re planning a fun night of McDonalds and bowling. Bring a friend to the McDonalds at Boomers on Michaelson in Irvine. After dinner we will bowl a game at the bowling alley next door.

6:45pm: Drop off at McDonalds

8:30pm: Pick up at Irvine Lanes

Cost: $10 for bowling, plus cash for dinner.

First Wednesday is our monthly program for kids in 5th and 6th grade.  Bring a friend and a dollar to the church on Wednesday, January 7 at 7pm.

• Eat pizza
• Talk about positive changes for the New Year

First Wednesday is a time of fellowship for 5th and 6th graders at Pacific.  We invite you this week to a special First Wednesday on December 3rd:

Irvine High School presents “A Christmas Carol,” featuring our own Nathan B!.  Bring six dollars and a friend.  We are carpooling from the church parking lot at 6:30pm (or meet us at Irvine High at 6:45pm).  Parents are welcome to attend as well.  Contact Mindy G. for more information.

It’s hard to believe that VBS is only 5 weeks away!!! It’s even harder to believe that this will be my oldest daughter’s last year of Vacation Bible School. How time flies… and I know that it will be flying even faster as we enter the Jr. High & High School years. Where am I going with this? Our lives are busy, time flies, but VBS is the one week of the whole year that you and your children can worship God, grow in faith, and have an absolute blast TOGETHER. One week of UNINTERRUPTED fun. One week to be a kid, WITH your kid. All for HIS glory. Yes, I have considered that one week of no interruptions from my kids might be nice too….but I have treasured every VBS moment. It is a gift of my time to my kids and their friends. A gift my kids will always remember, long after the Ipod and cellphone (that they swore, if they got it, would make me the BEST mom in the world) are forgotten. I encourage you to be a part of your child’s VBS experience. Only skill needed: loving God and loving kids. Maybe you don’t have a week, but what about 2 or 3 mornings??? Maybe you work. This year, my husband will go in late, stay late, and skip lunch for a day or two, so that he can come to VBS. Time is flying by. Don’t miss the opportunities that God is giving you to make an eternal difference in your child’s life.

I am looking for some people to help out with food service, help on the bbq grill and for some youth to help run our carnival games. A great way for your youth to earm those high school volunteer hours.

I am also in dire need of small prizes and candy for the Spring Fling. If you make it to Costco or Target feel free to walk by the candy aisle and throw a bag in for our Spring Fling. Candy and prizes can be dropped off at church or I can stop by and pick up from your door step.
