Pastor Seth – Poems and Musings

BOOK OF JUDGES

The roller coaster lives we live.

Do good, get good? Do bad, get bad?

That doesn’t change anybody.

We’ll just end up, like hornets, mad.

“The good life,” man’s highest pursuit?

Fools believe it’s life’s greatest bliss.

Angry with God when it ceases.

When it returns? Him, we’ll dismiss.

Depends on what “the good life” means.

Defined by home and happy lives?

Hop on the big roller coaster!

Buckle up! Roller coasters dive.

If I only use God for wants

I won’t find His power and grace,

A love I can’t earn and can’t lose,

Hope, I need for the life I face.

In love with my own well-being,

A “love” that smothers what it loves.

A “love” You’ll dismantle; and build

Deeper loves, for You, from above.
