Yep, the Men have been enjoying some new stuff, like Monday Night Football last week, and a movie the previous week.  This week is promising to be loads of fun with the start of the Monthly Poker Night, with friendly games, hanging out, and just having fun.  Cover is $5 for snacks and sodas, and leave the rest of your money home…  A few folks are bringing poker chips, and table covers, and the rest are bringing friends.  So, the details… 6:00pm sharp, Scott F.’s House.  Drop Benjamin an e-mail so he knows you’re coming and he can purchase enough snacks and soda for the bunch (and give you directions), or call him at 949-933-5404!!

A new Monday night small group is forming that will be studying what the Psalms teach us about discipleship.  We are being directed by the book A Long Obedience in the Same Direction by Eugene Peterson (the author of The Message translation of the Bible).  From the book:

There is a great market for religious experience in our world; there is little enthusiasm for the patient acquisition of virtue, little inclination to sign up for a long apprenticeship in what earlier generations of Christians called holiness.

Are you interested in working to deepen your relationship with God?  Would you like to learn with us?  This is a great chance to try a small group with a six-week commitment.  We will be reading the book and studying the Psalms during the week and discussing what we have learned at our meetings.  Contact Adri using the form on the left to indicate your interest and order a book.
