What mayhem we will see when conscience is broken,

“Do ’right’ in your own eyes.” This mantra, now spoken.

No restraining presence, like no brakes on a car,

Plummeting down the hill, “It’s a thrill ride for all”???

A broken conscience, bad, but another step worse,

When conscience becomes blind, we’ll live under that curse.

Now, no ability to see we may be wrong,

And chained as slaves to pride, shackled ways, all day long.

A blind conscience is bad, but the last step traversed,

Most frightening of all? When conscience is reversed!

When we call good “evil,” and we call evil “good,”

Applauding what is vile! Bring judgment as You should.
